Write the Vision
What has God called you to do? Have you written down the plan to get there?
This year, don’t lay it aside but build it.
“And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”
Habakkuk 2:2-3 ESV
We should write what our vision is for the purpose God has given us, but not without seeking Him for the plan! With seeking God for direction, we can still have goals and visions. We still have to take action!
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
Proverbs 16:3 ESV
“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
Proverbs 16:9 ESV
My Pastor, Mike Signorelli, prophesied over our church this year that “we will be established!” And I am in complete belief in this for myself, my family, our church! We see in scripture that the Lord establishes us! Our part is to commit our plans to Him! To follow His lead!
So let this be your reminder to write out your vision and to commit that to the Lord! Seek Him and His way for your life.
Need an example of someone who had good intentions but moved without committing his plans to God first?
In 2 Samuel 6 David wanted to move the ark of the covenant or the Ark of God back to Jerusalem. The first attempt failed with Uzzah losing His life after touching the Ark. The Ark was sacred and was God’s presence with His people. It was not be handled lightly ok? David had great intentions, but with the ark being so sacred, he needed to hear from God on HOW to move it. When he did, the ark was moved safely and made it to Jerusalem! David danced and everyone rejoiced!
A prayer:
Lord, I commit my plans to you.
Holy Spirit, I ask that you reveal what you have called me to and help me to write out the vision. Help me to seek your kingdom first. Give me courage and direction. Amen.
